But, in truth the origins of the crisis had begun developing deep roots in 2003 with the creation of the Irish Financial Services Regulator in 2003. In truth the seeds of the crisis were sown during the years leading up to 29th September 2008, at which point the Government guaranteed the Irish banking system.
