A COMMUNITY group in Filton wants to know about individuals or groups who, on a voluntary basis, make a real difference to life in the town.
The Unsung Heroes awards are being launched by Filton Community Lead Group, which is made up of representatives from Southern Brooks Community Partnership, South Gloucestershire Council, Filton Town Council, Merlin Housing Society, local primary schools and more.
The group is looking for nominations and examples of special work volunteers have been carrying out in Filton.
Those nominated need to be living in or working in Filton and will have led or taken part in activities that show a real difference in the community and promote communities working together. These awards, split into four categories of Unsung Hero (individual over 18), Unsung Hero (individual under 18), Unsung Hero (group) and Unsung Hero (project) will be presented as part of the Celebrating Filton's Community ceremony on July 10.
The ceremony will be held at Abbeywood Community School from 4pm to 6.30pm.
Nomination forms are available at Filton Town Council Office, Elm Park; St Peter's Church; Filton Leisure Centre; Abbeywood Community School; Filton Surestart centre; St Theresa's Church and St Andrews Church and Youth Centre, or email admin@southernbrooks.org.uk or ring 01454 868570.
