Brick Lane: A Contested Heritage?

Brick Lane is a street in East England, that runs from the historically agrarian hamlet of Bethnal Green in the northern part, and crosses the former parish site of Spitalfield, towards the east of Charing Road's, Whitechapel High Street. The street is also known by its iconic name, Banglatown due to the presence of Bangladeshi/Sylheti migrants, who regenerated the city's food scene by the introduction of the spicy curry cuisines in the area.
